In an online employer check, Falstaff PROFI surveyed employees from the hotel industry to determine what makes an employer attractive. Among 2,150 rated hotels in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, Hotel Hochschober ranked first.
Hochschober employs 130 staff members all year.
Approximately 20 of them are apprentices. They complete the four-year dual apprenticeship as Hotel & Hospitality Assistant and fully qualified graduate in the hotel and catering business.
For over 60 years, Hochschober has been training its professionals – and professionals for the tourism industry – itself.
Hochschober is a sought-after company training apprentices that has received several awards for its training measures.
Hochschober employees come from all over the world.
Most come from Austria and neighbouring countries such as Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. The team also includes employees from China and India.
Employee training and development are the responsibility of the Employee Academy, founded in 2003 and relaunched as MAK 2.0 in 2021.
Online training and development are made possible by the MAK 3.0 app. The program includes courses and seminars such as "Hochschober & Turrach Customer", language courses, as well as professional and leisure activity courses. As members of the Best Alpine Wellness Hotels, Hochschober also benefits from the training measures of this association.
Since 2021, employees have been housed in nearby, modern accommodations.
Named after Peter Leeb († 2014), the tourism pioneer and father of Karin Leeb, the staff house was opened in 2021. The modern accommodation on the Turracher Höhe, built in modular wood construction, houses 37 single and three double rooms.
Falstaff Profi awards Hotel Hochschober.
Hooray! In early September 2022, Falstaff PROFI named Hotel Hochschober the best employer of 2022 – in the category of hotels with 76 to 150 rooms. The result is particularly gratifying because it was employees who evaluated 2,150 hotels in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland in an online employer check. In this assessment, Hotel Hochschober received a proud total of 98 points (out of 100 possible points).
The award confirms the extensive employer branding measures implemented by the hotel. The focus is on appreciative cooperation, individual working time models, transparent career opportunities, modern staff accommodations on the Turracher Höhe, and training opportunities offered by the MAK 2.0 Employee Academy and the MAK 3.0 employee app.
